Mara Hoffman is known for her signature prints and gorgeous collections inspired by her personal affinity towards world travel, nature, mythology, and magic. I am a fan of Mara Hoffman's quirky swimsuit designs and ethnic inspired dashiki cover-ups (I love my Mara Hoffman swimsuit and cover-up!). So I was obviously excited to hear about her first-ever girls' collection, which is a collaboration with Crewcuts. And I, of course, experienced love at first sight upon seeing Hoffman's collection of bikinis, one-pieces, rash guards, ponchos, dresses, harem pants and rompers that uses prints and graphics inspired by the mythology and art of India. In an article by Elana Fishman for Luckymag.com, Hoffman explains the prints created for the collection:
“The Ganesh print is inspired by one of my go-to deities that I call upon when I need help—it has a joyous, childlike spirit. And the Ananda print incorporates birds that represent happiness and bliss—perfect for kids!”
And yes, this collection is perfect for kids-- you can purchase and see the rest of the collection at JCrew.com or MaraHoffman.com-- here are some of my favourite designs.
