Sunglasses
After a very rainy Saturday here in SF, the sun came out bright on Sunday only to have it rain cats on dogs again today. It is much needed rain, so I will not complain; besides, it is an excuse to stay cozy inside. However, on Sunday I was thinking, I need new Sunglasses this Spring/Summer-- I have my eyes on these Prada 'Baroque' ones. More important than me wanting (not really needing) yet another pair of expensive sunglasses, I looked for sunglasses for my son Mario. An article on the Iris Blog talks about the importance of sunglasses for children, and is a must read for parents. The article says that children’s eyes are more sensitive to damaging radiation than those of adults, because they usually have much larger pupils and the components of their eyes are also clearer than adult eyes, which allow for more light to pass and penetrate through. As parents we use sunscreen on our little ones as protection for their skin, however, we often don't give enough importance to its effect on their eyes. We should make sure our little ones wear sunglasses throughout the year. Since it's spring season, there are lots of options of cute sunglasses to get your little ones right now. Here are some of my favorites-- I especially love fun sunglasses for little ones in bright colors, cool prints, and cute shapes. I also love mini me classic styles like Ray-Ban wayfarers, but whatever your little one's style is, find them a pair they will love and want to wear because their eyes need protection too!
