MLB opened its 2014 Season in Sydney, Australia last night with the Dodgers and Padres on ESPN's "Sunday Night Baseball"--Opening Day is today, Monday, March 31st (FYI... Padres won last night, 3 to 1!). Most apparel brands already have their spring season starting lineup in place, and trending for adults and little ones alike are pinstripes, baseball caps, ringer tees, and Baseball Jackets. America's favorite pastime has inspired many of fashion's heavy hitters to take the classic baseball jacket from the diamond and redesign it for the street. Designers with Baseball Jackets on the Runway for Spring 2014 were Rebecca Minkoff, Mark McNairy, Bespoken, DKNY, and Jonathan Saunders.
No matter who you root for, I hope your team has a great season and that you are able to enjoy a game or two before the last game of the season arrives this year. We usually make it to a game or two a season; Mario loves to eat popcorn and pretzels while watching the SF Giants play. He especially enjoys watching from inside the SF Cable Car in AT&T Park, which if you were to ask me or my 3 year old son, is the best seat in the house. So get yourself and your little one a Baseball Jacket this spring and...
"Take me out to the ball game
Take me out with the crowd
Buy me some peanuts and crackerjacks
I don't care if I never get back
Let me root, root, root
For the home team
If they don't win it's a shame
Aahh.
For it's one,
Two,
Three strikes you're out
At the old ball game"
