Mario Staying Cool in San Francisco During an Autumn Heat Wave
An autumn heat wave is roasting California, with temperatures soaring into the low 100s in Southern California and the 90s in the San Francisco Bay Area this weekend. Needless to say, we planned our weekend around ways to stay cool in the city.
This weekend, we stayed cool in the city with Mario at the Mission Community Pool, the only city-operated outdoor pool in San Francisco. He had a blast swimming and splashing, and we all enjoyed some laughs while cooling off. To celebrate his first full week of preschool, we walked to Starbelly after the pool for his favorite food—pizza. On Sunday, we attended a friend’s birthday party at Ocean Beach, a 3.5-mile stretch of white sand, where Mario and his friends cooled off by splashing and playing in the water. It was the perfect way to celebrate and stay cool with good friends!
Yes, it’s hot, hot, hot in San Francisco, but Mario stayed cool in the city this weekend, and we had a blast meeting new friends, laughing together, and of course, splashing in the water.
