Pantone Color of the Year 2025: PANTONE 17-1230 Mocha Mousse
For 2025, the Pantone Color Institute has selected PANTONE 17-1230 Mocha Mousse as the Color of the Year. Mocha Mousse is a warming, rich brown hue that fulfills our desire for comfort, evoking the inviting qualities of chocolate and coffee.
The trend for muted tones, often referred to as “sad beige baby,” gained traction in kids’ clothing, toys, and bedroom decor a few years ago. Just when I was ready to embrace brighter colors in kidswear, the announcement of Mocha Mousse as the Color of the Year signals a resurgence of brown at the forefront of fashion.
That said, I’m loving Mocha Mousse for its simplicity and comforting nature—it’s a beautiful, soft, and warm brown shade. Mocha Mousse stands on its own but also works wonderfully as a grounding color for a range of palettes. It elevates everything from apparel and accessories to toys and decor.
Mocha Mousse is already making an appearance in kids’ goodies, and you can expect to see even more of it in 2025. Until then, here are my favorite Mocha Mousse finds for little ones.
