Mario at Paléospace l'Odyssée in Normandy, France
While in Normandy, France, for Mario's spring break we visited Villers-Sur-Mer, the starting point of the Vaches Noires Cliffs, a site where many fossils have been discovered. Mario loves dinosaurs, so it goes without saying that this was the perfect beach to visit with a six year old in search of dinosaur fossils. Mario and I buried seashells in the sand and pretended they were dinosaur fossils; then we reconstructed them to build our own species of dinosaur. While in Normandy, we also visited the Paléospace Museum, and although the museum itself was quite small, it did feature one of Normandy’s biggest carnivore and herbivore fossil collections: Streptospondylus, Lexovisaurus d’Argences, and Dubreuillosaurus Valesdunensis of Conteville. The museum also has interactive games and treasure hunts that were fun for a six year old who loves dinosaurs. We all had a blast with Mario searching for fossils and imagining we were Paleontologists.
