Today is the day I wait for all year, today is the Met Gala - a charity fundraiser to benefit the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute and to celebrate its latest exhibition opening. Although I have never attended, only 700 people make the guest list each year, the night's festivities have been called "the Oscars of the East Coast" because of the stars who attend and the elaborate red carpet on the grand entrance of the stairs to the museum. It is a fashion extravaganza of dapper black ties and beautiful gowns, and I look forward to seeing them every year. The party signals the opening of the Costume Institute’s annual fashion exhibit and this year the exhibition is “Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between." Andrew Bolton, the Costume Institutes curator in charge, said "Rei Kawakubo is one of the most important and influential designers of the past forty years.” To celebrate Rei Kawakubo I am sharing her Comme Des Garçons Play collection for kids which is Comme Des Garçons' casual luxury line commonly known for its heart shape logo with two eyes. I Heart this collection!
