A few weeks ago my boys moved into our new home in Düsseldorf while I was on a business trip to Hong Kong, China and London. I missed my boys, but I did not miss the headache of moving. It took our "stuff" 3 months to get here on a ship from San Francisco, and of course it arrived while I was gone. My boys were amazing directing the move without me - Mario guided the movers with their boxes upon boxes upon boxes into the proper rooms - sort of.
The fun than began again when I arrived a week later and started unpacking. Needless to say, we are not yet 100% settled in... the couch we ordered won't be here for another 2 months and the coffee table we ordered won't be here for another 3 months (we joke that they are still breaking down the ship they are making the reclaimed shipwood table out of). We are slowly but surely getting settled in our new home and every weekend consists of going somewhere to get something we need - garbage cans, sheets, towels, appliances... I can't wait to share our new home with you once we are properly moved in (does that ever happen really?), but until then here are some pictures my husband took with his iPhone and sent me while I was away of Mario moving into our new home.
