Mario's First Fortuna Düsseldorf Match

This past week was tough on our little family. Sadly, my dad passed away on Wednesday. We stayed indoors, feeling thankful for one another while remembering my dad—a provider, a creative, a friend, a hard worker, a believer, a thinker, and my father.

On Saturday, my boys and I ventured out to Mario's first Fortuna Düsseldorf match—actually, it was the first match for all of us in Germany. I kept thinking how much my dad would have loved to visit us here and see a match with us. Imagining him here with us made me feel closer to him. I also couldn’t help but smile at how overjoyed Mario was, cheering on his local team, who, by the way, won 2-0 against SV Darmstadt 98. It was a fun and exciting match, something we all needed. Now, we’re thinking about getting season tickets to cheer on our local football team. I hope Mario’s smile is half as contagious to you as it is to me!
