Living in San Francisco (I like to think) has made me an expert on layering because San Francisco is a city with microclimates; the city's weather can vary by as much as 9°F (5°C) from block to block due to the varied topography and influence from the marine layer. When it comes to transitioning a wardrobe from Summer to Fall I have it down to a science--it's how I dress Mario pretty much everyday.
So...don't pack away your son's Statement Graphic T-Shirts just yet, layer a trendy Plaid Shirt over them and wear them with Patched Jeans and Chukka Boots; your daughter's Sleeveless Shirts should not be packed away either, especially if they're plaid; instead, layer a cute Cardigan over them and wear them with Patched Jeans and Moccasins. I personally love to throw on a Pom-Pom Hat to keep my little one's head warm and though it is a myth that we loose most of our heat through our heads, Pom-Pom Hats are trending and look adorable on little ones.
I must admit I am getting excited to start talking about (and wearing) Fall trends, especially Plaid, Patched Jeans, Sweaters, Pom-Pom Hats, Moccasins and Boots. Enjoy my round-up, to see how your little one's favorite Summer Styles can transition into their Fall wardrobes...
