Sonoma County Fair 2014: Mario's Favorite Carnival and Flower Power
Mario loves fairs! A couple of weeks ago, we took him to the Alameda County Fair, and he had a blast. This weekend, we decided to take him to the Sonoma County Fair.
At the Sonoma County Fair, Mario enjoyed seeing the livestock, especially the goats and cows, but his favorite part was the Kiddie Carnival. This area, designed just for little ones, featured scaled-down rides and plenty of excitement. Mario and I rode the kiddie pirate ship twice and took a car ride that went "boing" as it dropped every few feet.
Although I felt a little dizzy, I had a great time with Mario. He laughed with so much joy the entire time. (I’m not much of a carnival ride person, and neither is my husband, who claims he doesn’t fit in the kiddie rides—though I suspect it’s his excuse to make me go on them with Mario).
Mario had so much fun at the Kiddie Carnival that it was hard to get him to leave. But we eventually managed to pull him away, and he was quickly distracted by the Hall of Flowers— a hometown favorite and a must-see! Professional landscapers, designers, amateur gardeners, and floral enthusiasts transform the hall into a floral wonderland, all built around a central theme. This year’s theme was "Flower Power." My favorite garden was inspired by The Beatles' "Yellow Submarine."
