Mario's Ferry Ride to Sausalito: A Day of Family, Picnics, and Soccer
Last week, my sister Margie and brother-in-law visited us from New York. During their stay, we took them on a ferry ride to Sausalito and enjoyed a perfect day out of the city.
Mario loves boat rides, so taking the ferry to Sausalito was a must. Once there, we picked up our favorite burgers and fries from Hamburgers Sausalito (while my vegetarian sister opted for fish tacos from Sausalito Taco Shop) and had a relaxing picnic in the park.
After lunch, Margie and her husband soaked up the sun on picnic blankets, enjoying the beautiful NorCal weather, while my husband and I chased Mario around the park and kicked a soccer ball with him. Soccer has been Mario's favorite thing to do since he could walk—he practically learned to walk with a football! My husband, a goalkeeper like his father and grandfather before him, has passed on his love for the sport, and I can’t help but dream that Mario might be the next Tim Howard!
I wish my sister lived closer so we could have more days like this together. Thankfully, we have Skype and manage visits when we can. It might be time to start planning a trip to NYC to see her again soon!
