Exploring the "Death Becomes Her" Exhibit at The MET and a Boys Weekend at Home
This past weekend, I had the chance to enjoy a long weekend in New York City, visiting my sister and some friends. I absolutely love NYC and miss it so much—my husband and I lived there for 10 years before moving to San Francisco. But when I travel alone, I always miss my boys more than I miss any city, and I'm grateful for Skype and texting to stay in touch.
Today, I’m excited to share some photos from the amazing "Death Becomes Her" exhibit at the Costume Institute in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The exhibit showcases a century of mourning attire, with garments dating from 1815 to 1915, including mourning gowns worn by Queen Victoria and Queen Alexandra. The exhibit is organized chronologically, offering a fascinating glimpse into the history of mourning fashion. It was the perfect day at the MET with my sister, brother-in-law, and friends—especially since NYC was so chilly (BURR!), it was great to be indoors surrounded by such beautiful art.
Back home, my boys had their own fun weekend together. My husband took Mario to the park, for pizza, and to see Big Hero 6—all of Mario’s favorite things. I have a few cute photos of Mario to share, courtesy of my husband. The last photo is of Mario looking up at the sky, searching for airplanes for his Mama—sweetest moment ever!
