San Francisco Fleet Week Air Show: Mario’s Favorite Weekend at the Ferry Building
Besides visiting Pier 45 on Saturday during Columbus Day Weekend, we went to the San Francisco Ferry Building at Pier 1 on Sunday to watch the San Francisco Fleet Week Air Show.
Mario loves going to the Ferry Building to see the crabs and ferry boats, and this past weekend was extra special with the Air Show. After his excitement over seeing planes on Saturday, we thought it would be fun for him to see more! I could hardly believe it, but Mario didn’t want to go inside to see the crabs or boats. Instead, he spotted the planes in the sky and was more than happy to find a spot on the waterfront to watch them.
We decided to grab bacon cheeseburgers, fries, and ice cream at Gott’s Roadside, eating at an outdoor picnic table while watching the first part of the Air Show. Afterward, we headed to the Playground at Sue Bierman Park, where Mario and Dada watched the United States Navy Blue Angels from the top of a jungle gym. If you were to ask both my boys, they’d say it was the best seat in the city for the Air Show. Mario and Dada ended the day by kicking a soccer ball around.
Here are some photos of Mario enjoying Day 2 of the San Francisco Fleet Week Air Show... now I just hope he doesn't expect planes to entertain him every weekend!
