Tulle Skirts: The Tutu Cute Spring Trend for Little Girls and Big Girls Alike
Even though holiday party season is behind us, Tulle Skirts (or Tutus) aren’t going anywhere just yet. In fact, they’re still being spotted as daywear and are set to be a big trend for Spring 2014. Fashionistas are making them socially acceptable, pairing them with button-down shirts, sweaters, sweatshirts, and T-shirts (think Sarah Jessica Parker as Carrie in "Sex and the City"). I admit, I’m wishing I had grabbed the Karinska Tulle Skirt from Anthropologie before the holidays to wear this spring with a graphic tee and my denim jacket.
And though I don’t have a daughter to dress in a tutu every day, I’ve always said that if I did, she’d be in one a lot! So naturally, I’m in love with this trend for both little girls and big girls! Every time I see a tutu in stores, boutiques, or on a little girl twirling in the street, I swoon. Tutus are just too cute, and with so many options on the market—and even DIY options without sewing—I’m sure I’ll be swooning all spring long as I watch the little ones happily twirl in their tutus at the playground, parks, and beyond.
