Word Play: Fun Statement Graphic Tees for Kids to Showcase Their Personality
If you’ve been following my blog, you know I’m a huge fan of Graphic Tees. I believe they’re a must-have staple in every child’s wardrobe. Graphic Tees allow kids to express their personality, mood, likes, and even dislikes. No other tee captures this better than the current trend of Statement Tees.
The trend of plastering words across T-shirts has continued from the runways into spring/summer 2014. One of the most memorable examples was Alexander Wang’s clever "Parental Advisory" message tee. Even more memorable was his four-year-old niece, Aila, who showed up at his show wearing a mini-me version of the tee paired with a leather mini skirt and a kid-sized Balenciaga handbag. Aila, already a fixture on fashion blogs for her enviable style, made a statement in these tees, and now they’re sure to appear more and more on the market (see her photo below).
The Statement Tee trend is all about words—what you say matters less than how loud and clear you say it. The key here is to keep it simple, witty, and interesting. Below, I’ve rounded up some of my favorite unisex Statement Tees.
